Obituary

Sue was born on May 7, 1925, and departed this life on November 25, 2021, age 96, after a long, happy, and fulfilling life.  She was affectionately called "Grams" by her family, and was known as a feisty lady who lived life in a big way.

Sue was born in Mankato, MN, and moved with her family to Springfield, MO, in 1935.  She lived most of her life in the Willard and Springfield areas, except for the years she lived in Boston and Norfolk.  She had two loving husbands who proceeded her in death, Kurt Richards, and Tom Wadlow, along with her parents, Willard and Hannah Thomas, brother, Jim Thomas, and many close relatives.

Sue is survived by her daughter, Debbie Freeman (Jim Hines), granddaughter, Michelle Hendrick (Craig), future great-grandson, Baby H, and grandson, Matthew Freeman (Tarah).  She is also survived by many special friends and cherished family members.

Sue was active in the Willard and Springfield communities and was a dedicated volunteer.  She was a member of the Willard Methodist Church where she was involved in UMW until her death.  She served on many community boards and committees, as well as serving on the Grand Jury.  She traveled extensively in Europe and the US.  She loved flowers and watching her garden grow. Sue loved to entertain and was an accomplished hostess. She loved getting together with family and looked forward to "the cousins" lunches. She was an animal lover, especially Dachshunds, and loved her grand dogs, Olivia and Parker. Sue was an avid antique collector and owned many treasured pieces. She enjoyed crafts and made handmade cards for friends and family for special occasions. She had many, many friends who loved her dearly.   Sue will be remembered for her acts of kindness and love for her family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on December 11, 2021, at 10:30am at Wesley Cemetery in Willard, and a memorial service will follow at 11:30am at Renew United Methodist Church, 304 S.
