Suzanne (Sue) Lindsey, 88 of Springfield died March 19, 2021. Mrs. Lindsey, daughter of the late George W. Helfrecht and his wife Sophia Marie Laes was born October 20, 1932 in Springfield, MO. She attended Springfield (Central) High School, class of 1950 and Southwest Missouri State College. On January 1, 1954 she was united in marriage to Charles R. Lindsey in Springfield, MO. In 1967, Sue started her 53-year career at Hiland Dairy as Executive Secretary retiring February 2020. She was a life-long member of St. John's United Church of Christ and volunteered as an usher for nearly 20 years at Juanita K. Hammons Hall. Her joy was watching her son's activities at Pleasant View and Hillcrest, then her grandchildren's many sports and school activities. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Lindsey in 2008, stepmother, Nona Payne; sisters, Jean Panhorst and Dorothy Hale. She is survived by her sons, Bill and wife Peggy of Springfield and Robert and wife Jessica of Portland, ME; grandchildren; Brian, wife Mallory of Kansas City, MO, Eric of Dallas, TX, Aurelia and Brayden of Portland, ME. Siblings: sister Nancy Graham and brother George (Jim) Helfrecht Springfield, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 30th 5-7pm and funeral service at St. John's UCC Church on Wednesday March 31st at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Doug Burwick Officiating.
