Suzanne Grace McLaughlin, age 79, passed away peacefully, June 30, 2022, due to cancer and congestive heart failure. She was born October 28, 1942 to Carroll and Margery Doran in Saint Louis, Missouri. She was the only child of but was dearly loved by both parents. She married her true love John Michael McLaughlin (Mike) on November 25, 1961 at Immacolata Parish.
Sue loved life and meeting people. She started her working career as a receptionist in an insurance office where she helped people with their claims and later, after her children were grown, she worked for OBGyn Doctors doing patient billing and working with new mothers.
She was a loving and nurturing mother to her 3 children during their school years. Sue was the role model for her children and grandchildren in the way she showed respect and brought happiness to everyone she came in contact with on a daily basis. She never had a negative thing to say about any one or any situation, she always had a positive attitude. When there was doubt, she would say "We don't know what it's going to be, but it will be okay". She was a friend of Bill Ws, which helped her find serenity in her later years. Sue was able to assist many others in finding their serenity and in living their lives to the fullest. She is known to all her friends as the lady who says goodbye by saying, "1, 4, 3, I love you".
Sue is survived by her Husband Mike, son Michael McLaughlin and wife Vivian from Taipei, Taiwan, Anne Kofron and her husband, Joe from Springfield, Missouri, Erin Hanley and her husband Barry from Glenview, Illinois, her 8 grand-children, Nick Kofron, Hannah Kofron, Joe Kofron, Amy Kofron, Savannah McLaughlin, Ian McLaughlin, Will Hanley, Grace Hanley, 1 niece, 3 nephews and other family members originally from the Saint Louis Area. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
Please join us celebrating her life Saturday morning July 9, 2022, for a Mass at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2200 W. Republic Road, Springfield, Missouri. The family will be receiving friends starting at 10:15 in the church reception area. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an organization of your choice. Some examples are Saint Jude Hospital or Tunnels to Tower.
