Susan Marie Crisman, 68, of Springfield, Missouri went to be with the Lord at 6:30 am on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 in Springfield. She was born on February 5, 1947 in Brookfield, MO to Joe Henry and Billie Jean McGrew of Mendon, MO where she grew up. She and her family were faithful members of Mendon UMC where she played the piano. She loved playing the piano and won awards playing the baritone saxophone. She graduated from Mendon High School, married, and then went on to the Blue Bonnet Beauty School in Springfield where she studied cosmetology. This started her life-long love of hairdressing for over 40 years. She adored her numerous clients whom she considered all her friends. Mom was devastated when she was forced to stop working for health reasons. Mom loved to laugh and make people laugh. She was a kind, caring person. She was a member of Campbell UMC and the Springfield Cosmetology Association. She had a passion for the arts; Springfield Symphony, Springfield Regional Opera, Little Theatre, Jazz Concerts and Competitions, and Public Television. She also had a passion for horticulture, cooking, and entertaining. She dearly loved her 6 grandchildren (and they her) and her little dog Oscar and cat Louisa. Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Billie Jean McGrew; grandparents, E.J. and Estelle Tyler; and her uncle Gerald Tyler, all of North Missouri. Susan is survived by: her daughter Kelly Stone, husband Tom, and their children Lillian, Sophie, and Thomas; her daughter Jody Blevins, husband Ron, and their children Kestin, Anthony, and Christian; sister Billie Joe Wilkinson and her husband Mike of St. Louis; sister Jeannette Gardner, husband Gary, and their daughter Lindsey, husband Branton Harris, and their children Giselle and Broderick; and too many precious friends to mention. She will be missed! We take comfort in knowing her battle is over and she is in her loving Saviors' arms. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 3 pm at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, with the Reverend Phillip Wright officiating.
