Sue Carolyn Simmons, 92, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Magnolia Square Nursing Home. Sue was a lifetime resident of Springfield, where she graduated from Greenwood Laboratory School in 1947 and attended Southwest Missouri State College. She was married to Jerry W. Simmons for 42 years before his death in 1990.

She was employed as an underwriter for various insurance companies and later was in charge of advertising at Modern Distributing. Sue belonged to several organizations throughout the years, including Sigma Kappa Alumnae, Ozarks Genealogical Society, D.A.R. and the Springfield Association for the Blind.

Sue enjoyed reading, sewing, needlework, traveling and spending time at her cabin at Table Rock Lake.

She is survived by her daughters Linda Manning, Vicky Corrigan (Dennis) and Joni Seever (Mike); three grandchildren, Ben Corrigan, Justin Barcomb (Rosie) and Christy Haslip (Jason); step-grandson, Michael Seever; several great-grandchildren and many other close family and friends.

Graveside Service will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Hazelwood Cemetery. Online condolences can be read at gormanscharpf.com.
