IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sue
Robb
December 6, 1935 – July 11, 2016
December 6, 1935 – July 11, 2016
Sue Robb, 80, a resident of The Fremont Memory Care in Springfield, passed away peacefully on July 11 at her residence.
Sue was born on December 6, 1935 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was the second daughter of Harry and Mildred Woodruff.
Sue graduated from the University of Arkansas and moved to Wichita, Kansas to work for Boeing, where she met and married Bill Robb. She and Bill had three children: Kathy, Debbi, and Bill. One of their biggest adventures together was living in Germany for two years before moving back to Wichita. After Bill's death, she moved her family to Arkansas. She married Charles Robb in 1972 and she and her children joined him in Springfield, Missouri.
To students in Rogers, Springfield, and Logan-Rogersville, Sue was "Mrs. Robb:" a math teacher who could be strict, yet would break into song to teach the quadratic formula. To her sorority sisters, she was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi, serving on the executive board throughout the years. To many friends, she was a bridge partner, playing in numerous bridge clubs and casually on Friday evenings. To her neighbors, she was the woman logging miles every day walking her dog Max. To members of the Church of Christ, Sue was a respected and faithful sister. To her nine grandchildren, she was loved as Nana, who always stocked Lucky Charms in the pantry, enjoyed shopping or fishing trips equally, and joined them to sunbathe or splash in the pool.
Sue leaves behind to treasure her memory three children: Kathy Black and her husband, Roger, Debbi Manes and her husband, Steve, and Bill Robb and his wife, Molly; grandchildren Stephanie (Black) Davis, John Black, Matthew Black, Hannah Black, David Manes, Brian Manes, Jeff Manes, Maddie Robb, and Emily Robb; and great-grandchildren Cora Davis, Asher Davis, and Zelda Manes. She is also survived by her sister Jo Barnett of Phoenix, Arizona.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. The family will have a private burial service in Rogers, Arkansas.
