Obituary

Aileen Sue Alexander, 86, of Springfield, MO passed away on December 18, 2014. She was born August 1, 1928 in Springfield, MO, the daughter of Guy and Lena (Moret) Hare. Sue married Roland Alexander on August 20, 1950 and they had 64 wonderful years of marriage. She is survived by her husband, Roland, and their four children, RC Alexander and wife, Josie of Branson, MO, Rex Alexander and wife, Penny, of Springfield, Illinois, Linda Stufflebeam and husband, Jim, of Springfield, MO, and Carol Stephen and husband, Willie, of Nixa, MO.; grandchildren, Tracy Williams and husband, David, Bryan Alexander, Brittany Little, Blake Alexander, Matt Stufflebeam and wife, Ashley, Janelle Williamson and husband, Kyle, Luke Stufflebeam and wife, Sophia, Taylor Stephen, Makayla Stephen and Landon Stephen; great-grandchildren, Emily Wagner and Madeline Williams, Grant Little, Ealand Stufflebeam and Brecken Stufflebeam. Sue is also survived by her brother, Guy Hare and wife, Wilma; her sister, Anna Mae Pace; and nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. Sue was Valedictorian of her high school class and then went on to graduate from Southwest Missouri State College in 1950 with a major in Vocational Home Economics and a minor in Art. She taught Home Economics in Urbana, MO for a couple of years before resigning to become a full-time mom. She loved raising her children and taking care of the home. She was an excellent cook and her apple pies, cherry pies and chocolate chip cookies were always popular with family and at church events. Sue also loved to sew, knit, crochet, paint, and play ping pong and cards. She made quilts for all her children and grandchildren and painted many decorations for the home. Roland and Sue spent many of their retirement years traveling. Sue and Roland have been members of Glenstone Baptist Church since 1953. She had always been very active in her church and loved the ladies of her Sunday school class. Sue was loved, appreciated, and had a lasting impact on many lives, and will be greatly missed. Service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2014 at Glenstone Baptist Church with Pastor Pat Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Danforth Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel.
