Steven G. Gamble, 81, of Springfield, passed away June 4, 2026. He was born in Denver, Colorado on December 10, 1944 to Franklin D. Gamble and Elaine (Hildrith) Gamble. He graduated from Parkview High School, attended KU, SMS (now MSU) and graduated from Drury University. After graduation, he worked at Hallmark in KC for a time and then moved to St. Louis, where he lived until 2001 when a debilitating illness led to his move to a residential care facility in Springfield. He moved to Springfield Skilled Nursing in 2024.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Gamble; maternal grandparents Burton and Willie Hildrith; paternal grandparents Jess and Ethel Gamble and step-mother, Jeanne (Atkinson) Gamble.

No visitation is planned. Graveside Service will be Friday, June 12, 2026 at 1:00 PM in Eastlawn Cemetery with Reverend Charlie Bahn officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the National Avenue Christian Church.
