Stephen Andrew Roberts, 63, of Springfield, MO, passed away on October 31, 2013, in Springfield, MO. Steve was a dedicated family man who devoted his life to his son Patrick. He was born on September 27, 1950 and was shaped by the ideals and sentiments of the era as well as a strong love of family. He was a good man with a generous heart. He made friends with those who had few friends. He listened when others wouldn't take the time. He graduated from McClure High School in 1968. He pursued his passion for piano classical music at Webster College in St. Louis earning his Masters of Fine Arts. He was accepted and studied piano at the Paris Conservatory of Music in France and then returned to America after several years settling in Southern California. He excelled in business in the international trades, managed production in the printed circuit board industry, and eventually moved into the retail auto industry in Golden, Colorado. Steve was an excellent tennis player and enjoyed years of competition in Southern California with friends. He was an avid golfer and loved fishing. But what Steve enjoyed most was to be with his son and with his family, sharing stories and making memories. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Leo B. Roberts, and his brother, Patrick Roberts. He is survived by his beloved son, Patrick Andrew Roberts, Arvada, Colorado, his mother Emma (Fran) Roberts, Springfield, Missouri, his brothers Michael Roberts, Pekin, Illinois, and Daniel Roberts, Costa Mesa, California, his sister Kathleen (Roberts) Hayford, Springfield, Missouri, his sisters in law Debbie Roberts, Jodie Roberts, and Alana Roberts, and many nephews and nieces who loved him dearly. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 under the direction of Gorman Scharpf Brentwood Chapel, with Reverend Michael Roberts officiating. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home.
