Stephen Boyd Olson, 58, passed away in his home on August 19, 2019. He was born on July 9, 1961 in Kansas City, MO. He lived most of his life in Springfield, attended Glendale High School and graduated from Highland High School. He then attended Southwest Missouri State (MSU) and served in the Air Force.

Steve enjoyed being outdoors, whether it be bow and arrow hunting, gardening or hanging out at his grandparents' home at Lake of the Ozarks. He was his family's "go to" person, best friend to all their dogs and cats and a devoted Chiefs fan. He was diagnosed with Lymphoma, and for the following 14 years dealt with the side effects of the treatments that significantly changed his life.

Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents, Martha and Alvin Heckerman.

He is survived by his mother, Virginia Olson; brother, Robert Olson (Jennifer); niece, Noelle; nephews Linus Olson and Ayden O'Conner and his aunt, Dixie Sleight.

Steve will be cremated, and no formal services are planned. Memorial contributions can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 6811 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Cloverleaf Building #1, Shawnee Mission, KS, 66202.
