Stephen William Hukriede, our angel, was born September 30, 1985, and died at home Thursday, February 11, 2010. Stephen lived a rich life in which he brought immeasurable joy and happiness to everyone he touched. His passing will leave a void in his family and friends lives. In spite of his disabilities, his cheerful disposition and loving nature inspired all. His beautiful blue eyes will be greatly missed. He leaves behind his parents, Jana (Hume) and Malcolm Hukriede; his big brother, John; and many aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as his family at Daybreak Adult Day Care. There will be a prayer service at his parish, Holy Trinity, 2818 E. Bennett St., February 12, 2010 at 6 p.m. His funeral mass in Holy Trinity is Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 10 a.m., with the Reverend Fergus Monaghan presiding under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. The burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3506 N. National Springfield, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Daybreak Adult Day Care, in care of, Council of Churches of the Ozarks, P.O. Box 3947, Springfield, Missouri 65808, or the Developmental Center of the Ozarks, 1545 E. Pythian, Springfield, Missouri 65802. We would like to thank all of the people that have shared Stephen's life in special ways.
