Stephen Warren Cargill, age 74, of Springfield, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 12:44 pm in his home surrounded by his wife, Debbi Cargill and stepdaughter Shelli Fountain. Steve was born in Dallas, Texas on April 18, 1949. He was the oldest child of three. He is preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Evelyn Cargill and a brother.

Steve spent his life working in multiple warehouses and loved spreading the love of Jesus. He had a huge passion for softball and singing God's word. At times he also participated as worship leader in his church.

Steve is survived by his wife, Debbi (Young) Cargill; sister Jennifer (Mike) Brown; and children Kim, Deedee, Brian, and Britney. He had six grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren. He had two stepsons and two stepdaughters.

Steve married his wife, Debbi on October 4, 2014 in Kilgore, Texas. After spending a wonderful eight years together; they relocated to Springfield, Missouri to be closer to family that could assist in anything they would need.

After Steve had several hospital stays, he was diagnosed with Interstitial Lung Disease with Pulmonary Fibrosis and Non Hodgkin Lymphoma. Chemotherapy had been started but in the last week he spent on this earth he realized that the lung disease was too much to overcome. He decided to be admitted to Phoenix Hospice, so he could be kept comfortable in his own home.  Steve will be cremated and the cremains will reside with his wife and family. Cremation will be conducted by Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield, Missouri.
