IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stan
Money
November 9, 1958 – May 26, 2017
Stan Money, 58, of Springfield, MO passed away May 26, 2017. He was born in 1958 in Kansas City, Missouri to Bob and Janis Money. Stan grew up in Springfield and graduated from Glendale High School in 1977.
For 29 years, Stan was happiest doing mechanic work. Being physically and mentally challenged and solving problems intrigued him. During his career, he worked for Son Ray Automotive, Rick's Automotive, U.S. Automotive. and more. To help out friends and family, he spent many weekends and days off working on their cars in the driveway. Back in the day, he enjoyed racing around in his Datsun 260 Z. Stan was an avid motorcycle rider who traveled the states with his brothers, Jim and Steve. He was a music lover and jammed out whenever he could.
In the past five months, Stan underwent 3 back surgeries. Even in pain, he kept his nurses and doctors laughing with his quick wit. We appreciate the good care he received at Mercy Hospital and Rehab. They were very caring, and they met all of Stan's needs.
He will be remembered for his sweet smile, those beautiful blue eyes, his quirky sense of humor, daily phone calls, and his mechanic skills. Stan lived to the beat of a different drummer, and he enjoyed his bachelor life with his 2 cats, Momma Cat and Peeve. Stan loved introducing his new kitty as his pet Peeve.
Stan was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother Jimmy. He is survived by his brother Steve Money, 2 sisters-in-law, 2 nieces, and friends.
A celebration of Stan's life will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.gormanscharpf.com
