Obituary

Stacy John Schlueter, Springfield, MO was born on May 13, 1978, and passed away on August 1, 2021, at the age of 43 in Cox South Hospital from injuries sustained while shooting off fireworks.  Stacy attended Immaculate Conception Elementary School and graduated in 1997 from Rogersville High School.

Stacy was preceded in death by his father, Michael J Schlueter; his paternal grandparents, Albert and Margaret (Waller) Schlueter; his maternal grandfather, Charles E Drewett; and his maternal step-grandfather, Leo J Cooseman.

Stacy is survived by his maternal grandmother, Patricia (Hillemeyer) Drewett Cooseman; mother, Kathleen (Drewett) Schlueter; siblings Michael G Schlueter (Kati Jane Rankin, Sydney, Savannah and Saylor); Jeffrey C Schlueter (Cristina, Chloe and Amaya); Kirk M Schlueter (Erin, Timaree and Tristan); Megan K Schlueter (Michael and Maddox); Scott P Schlueter; and the many, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews too numerous to list from the Drewett and Schlueter families.

Stacy lived life one day at a time, with a special love for all that nature had to offer.  Animals loved him and children possessed him as their best pal.  He was a very determined and talented person in his pursuit of developing creations from items he found while frequenting the woods, lakes and rivers of southwest Missouri.  As a child, he often misplaced his dad's tools in his pursuit of taking things apart and putting them back together.  As he grew, this turned into years of working on cars, go-carts, home construction and remodels and his love of collecting and working with driftwood.  You could easily say that Stacy was easy to love but often difficult to handle.  He had the best of intentions and loved to give, even when it was all that he had.

Stacy was deeply loved by many.  We pray that he has found peace in the loving embrace of his Heavenly Father.  We can only imagine the beautiful creations he is working on with God and his earthly father in heaven.

Stacy's family is deeply grateful for the unconditional love he received from Diane Ponder and David Galloway since the passing of his father two years ago.  We are also grateful for the compassion displayed and care provided by the EMTs, neuro intensive care unit nursing staff and chaplain and priest at Cox South Hospital.
