Obituary

Sidney G. Campbell was born November 3, 1928 in Vallejo, CA to Inez M. and Carroll Campbell. After graduating from Vallejo High School, he entered the Army and served in Japan with the occupational troops. After returning from service, he attended Office Appliance Mechanical Institute in Springfield, MO. His professional career included working at Victor Adding Machine Company, Ozark Typewriter Company with his partner, Joe Kacprowicz, and Kolar. He was president of the Southeast Lion's Club in 1971-1972, and enjoyed working in their horse shows. He was also a deacon at Westminster Presbyterian Church. After retirement Sid was a USTA tennis umpire for the Springfield Park Board and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He belonged to the R C Modeler Club and the Amateur Radio Club. He married Jean Jung in 1950, in Springfield, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, and an adopted son, Daniel Campbell. Graveside services will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Monday under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
