Shirley Elizabeth Green was born June 10, 1932, in Springfield, MO and passed away in James River Nursing Home on July 14, 2025, at the age of 93.

Shirley retired from Cox Health Systems (Burge School of Nursing) and was a lifetime member of Mount Carmel U.M.C. where she sang in the choir for many years. After retiring, Shirley used her singing skills to sing with a group called the Brady Bunch and would sing at various nursing home facilities as well as other venues. She also enjoyed playing her favorite church songs on the piano. Shirley loved to travel and took several bus tours during her retirement.

Shirley was a happy person and always had a smile on her face. She was loved by many at James River Nursing Home where she lived for the past two years. She will be missed by many but has moved on to her heavenly home. She will be greeted by many Friends and Family who have passed before her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Green, parents Charles E. and Aileen Huntley, her brother and sister-in-law Bill E. and Jacquetta Huntley and a nephew Stephen Whitson Huntley. She is survived by her niece Susan D. Gann and husband Joe of Springfield, MO and a nephew John C. Huntley of Hollister, MO, and many great nieces and great nephews.

A special Thank You to the staff of James River Nursing Home as well as Jeri, Micheala and Laura with Phoenix Hospice for the excellent care and compassion she received.

Funeral arrangements will be directed by Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with a graveside service at Roper Cemetery in Morgan, MO on Friday July 18, 2025, at 11:00am.

There will be no formal visitation but there will be a viewing on Thursday, July 17 after 1:00pm at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home at 1947 E. Seminole in Springfield.
