Shirley Jean Cox, 81, of Springfield, MO. passed away on March 2, 2024, of pancreatic cancer. She was born in Springfield, MO on December 29, 1942, to parents Ernest and Violet Brown.

Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by daughter Dana Brunsman who passed away in 2016.

She is survived by daughter Ginger Shupert and her husband Jeff Shupert of Springfield, MO, granddaughter Cortney Montano, and great-grandsons Gavin Lucero – Montano and Dominick Lucero-Montano of Springfield, MO and sister Pat Bareford of Springfield, MO.

Shirley was an energetic, independent, and fun-loving person. She enjoyed spending weekends going to garage sales and flea markets. She loved spending time with her family, friends and neighbors. She had a special place in her heart for dogs. Shirley enjoyed sitting on her porch and visiting with neighbors as they walked by.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
