IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sherry
Jorgensen
November 29, 1953 – September 21, 2017
Sherry L. Jorgensen passed away the morning of September 21st, 2017 after a short battle with cancer at the age of 63. Sherry was born in Springfield, Missouri November 29th, 1953 to Jack and Wanda Jean Dixon.
Sherry was preceded in death by her father Jack Dixon, her mother Jeannie Dixon, her sister Cindy Thomas and grandparents Hadley and Esther Dixon. Sherry was survived by her husband of 25 years, Joseph (Joe) Jorgensen, her son Todd Elder (Stephanie), her stepmother Phyllis Dixon, step-sister Jerri Shaw, cousins David Dixon (Beth) and Mike Dixon (Jan), brother Jack (Janevra). She is also survived by her mother-in-law Doris Jorgensen, sisters-in-law Jana Amsinger, Judi Axon, Glendra Jorgensen; brothers-in-law Eric Jorgensen, Dennis Amsinger and Scott Axon; nieces and nephews Mac, Jason, Nikki, Matt, Lori, Ryan and Nathan; and a friend of Bill's, along with many other loved ones.
Sherry had especially fond memories as a child with her family at their cabin at Cedar Creek, a love for spending time camping with her lake friends, and a passion for painting, crafting, and spending afternoons with Joe at antique shops finding "that one of a kind" collectable that I already knew she had three of already. Sherry's Glendale roots also continued with her years of fun and fellowship with her GHS girls and various reunion committee activities.
Even though Sherry's time was short lived. Her undying spirit of life will live on forever to the people who knew her.
Special thanks to: My family, Phyllis, Jerri, Terri, Ruth, Gail Fulton, Greg Fulton, and Lana, with who's support I couldn't have done this without you all. And a special thank you to: Angela, Heidi, Jessica and the rest of the team at Three Rivers Hospice.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 12:00, followed by memorial service 12:00 PM, Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Campbell United Methodist Church, 1747 E. Republic Rd., Springfield, MO 65804, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
