Scotty Marvin Tella left us suddenly on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the age of 75. Born to Louie E. and Beryl V. Tella on March 5, 1936 in Galloway, MO. Scotty was united in marriage to Lois Marie McGuire on March 6, 1959 in Miami, OK. They were blessed with three children which he adored; David Scott Tella and wife Rena and his precious granddaughter Alexis; Douglas Lee Tella and friend Blanche Pettijohn and Diane Marie Tella and friend Kevin Wheat. Scotty attended school at Rogersville, afterwards he joined the Marine Corp on January 25, 1954. He proudly served as a member of the Third Battalion Platoon 317 and later with Fourth Marines Third Battalion Fleet Marine Force Pacific. Scotty returned home in 1957 where he continued to serve with the Ninth Marine Corp Reserve Unit Cobra Platoon. Scotty retired from Dayco, where he worked for 38 years and made many lifelong friends. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and being with his family. He loved everything outdoors, fishing with friends, and hunting with Larry. He shared his passion for gardening and photography with his daughter and all things sports & military with his sons. He was an avid Cardinal fan. He and his wife of 52 years simply enjoyed being together. Scotty is also survived by his sisters, Alice Butler of Bolivar, MO and Betty Gillen of Greenfield, MO; brothers, Harold McGuire & wife Marquetta of Alabama, Larry McGuire and wife Judy of Greenfield, MO as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. All of us will miss him greatly. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 15th at 10:30 a.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with Funeral services at 11:30 a.m. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
