IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Scottie Jay
Pearson
January 5, 1973 – April 3, 2020
Scottie Jay Pearson, born January 5 th , 1973, passed away on Friday, April 3 rd following a short illness. He is survived by his mother, Brenda Fuller, and her husband Will of Marshfield, Missouri; Scott's father, Robert J Pearson, of Springfield; his brother, Patrick J. Pearson and his wife Stephanie of Springfield; younger brother, Lucas Cord Fuller and Sasha Manger of San Diego, California; two half-brothers, Billy and John Pearson of Springfield; an Aunt, Betty Lane, of Rogersville, Missouri; several cousins and a host of close friends in the surrounding Springfield area.
Scott lived a life of adventure. He loved the great outdoors, particularly the mountains, taking hiking and camping adventures whenever he could both locally and throughout the country. One of Scott's favorite books was "Into Thin Air" by Jon Krauker. He also loved his "toys" which included big trucks, Jeeps and motorcycles. Scott had a genuine zeal for living life large, embracing the philosophy that you don't always need a plan, just go. Thus, his passion for motorcycle riding and pride in his FBI bagger and Bobber bikes was as natural to him as the wind into which he often rode. Scott admired loyalty and believed that everyone was a possible friend, the same traits he shared with his four legged friends, including "Ezekial" or "Zeek," who he had for many years, and his newest dog "Bohdi" who was his constant companion. Scott was an excellent cook, but also enjoyed eating out, including the challenge and joy of progressive dining, creating fun with friends trekking to multiple restaurants to make one meal. Scott delighted in music, specifically acoustic music played very loud, but was eclectic in his listening choices, favoring Godsmack to Dave Matthews Band to Dwight Yoakum. Scott relished wearing the finest cowboy boots and you would rarely, if ever, see him wear a pair of shorts. Scott's many talents included being a skilled artist, creating beautiful drawings which he gifted with love and beautiful messages to others. Like most artists, he was curious about everything. Creatives like Scott test boundaries, not to be rebellious, but to simply explore — to understand, to learn. Scott worked as a cell phone tower repair man, was an accomplished brick mason and most recent a maintenance tech for Top of the Rock in Branson. He was a lifelong learner.
Scott's charismatic personality attracted numerous friends and acquaintances from all walks of life, and he was dearly loved by more people than he could ever possibly imagine. Scott was unique in his ability to love unconditionally, and would share heartfelt conversations about life, philosophy, personal struggles, spirituality, and even religion and politics. His natural curiosity and acceptance would allow for truly engaging conversations regardless of topic. Scott would never hesitate to offer his rather spirited opinion, even when unsolicited, but also truly respected the opinions of others. His honesty and humility were genuine. A true free spirit, he connected deeply with the world and followed his heart. His combination of relentless vitality and passion for the world around him made him special.
Scott will be dearly missed by his family and friends but will forever remain in our hearts.
