Obituary

Scott Ronald Christiansen was born the second son to Ronald and Mary Christiansen in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on January 4th, 1953. He grew up in Springfield attending Springfield public schools and graduated from Glendale High-School in 1971. He later attended Southwest Missouri State University where he was a proud member of the KA's. In 1984, Scott married Kathy Ownby and from their 16 year union, sons Evan and Colin were born. Scott is remembered by his many friends and family for his outgoing personality, upbeat attitude, perpetual smile and the best head of hair around. Being totally unselfish, Scott always shared generously of his resources and time, and was famous for his football game parties and barbecue tritips. Scott was always there for his friends in time of need. While fiercely loyal to all of his friends and family, he could speak out forcefully in matters of politics or at perceived injustice. In 1975, Scott founded "The Christiansen Group", a corporate recruiting business specializing in the food and beverage industry and was active in this profession until time of death. Scott is survived by his sons, Evan and Kenneth Colin; their mother Kathy Ownby; brother and sister-in-law Drs. Stephen and Carol Berner Christiansen; their son Edward; their daughter Marian Ensor, her husband Chris Ensor and their son, Gabriel. Also surviving are cousins Chuck Christiansen of Springfield, Jack Christiansen and wife Ann of Dana Point, California and Greg Nystuen of Northwood, Iowa. Scott was blessed with many more distant relatives he held dear. A graveside service will be held at Hazelwood Cemetery on Wednesday, March 13th at 3 P.M. The Celebration of life will be on April 5th at 7 P.M. This will be held at Parlor 88 East, Springfield, Missouri. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Evan and Colin Christiansen College Fund at Liberty Bank in Springfield, MO. Born: 1-4-1953 Death: 3-6-2013
