Scott J. Carpenter, 51, of Buffalo, Missouri, passed away at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2015 in Highlandville, MO. He was born December 4, 1963 in Festus, Missouri, the son of Melvin and Deanna Carpenter. He married Diane M. Carpenter on March 13, 1982.
Scott spent 14 years serving in the United States Navy and worked 17 years for the City Utilities Power Station.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Deanna Rose Carpenter.
Scott is survived by his loving wife, Diane Carpenter; daughter, Chelsea and her husband, Chris Wells; father, Melvin C. Carpenter; brothers, Melvin C. Carpenter, II and his wife, K.C.; Michael I. Carpenter; and Darren Carpenter and his wife, Molly; brothers-in-law, Thomas (Butch) E. Jones and his wife, Sharon; and Justin A. Jones and his wife, Christin; and several wonderful nieces and nephews.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2015 in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Visitation will precede the service from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Scott's name to the Wounded Warrior Project, 1120 G Street NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC 20005.
