Sarasue Gibson Potter, 78, passed away January 17, 2010, in Springfield, Mo. Sue and Jerry would have celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary January 19. She led her life as an example for all who knew and loved her; never complaining or criticizing and always putting others first. Her family and friends will miss her dearly. Sarasue was born February 10, 1931, to Olive and I.K. Gibson. She was a homemaker and probate clerk. Sarasue served as a Life Member of the Cox Auxiliary and was a previous member of Oakland United Methodist Church and current member of King's Way United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the PEO Chapter ER, Daughters of the American Revolution, SMMA Living Art Chapter, and a bridge group. Her hobbies included reading, cooking, needlework, and volunteering. Sarasue is survived by her husband, Jerry J. Potter; daughters, Penni Quinn and husband Thomas L. Quinn of Springfield, Mo., Cindy Clampett and husband, Steve Clampett of Farmers Branch, Texas, Becki Petersen and husband, Brad Petersen of Springfield, Mo.; grandchildren, Matthew Crumpley, Jennifer Crumpley, Stephen Clampett, Sarah Clampett, Julianne Petersen, Geoffrey Petersen, and Jenaleigh Petersen. Sarasue was preceded in death by her parents, Olive and I.K. Gibson; and her brother, Bill Gibson. Visitation will be January 22, 2010, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010, in King's Way United Methodist Church. Burial services will follow in Danforth Cemetery.
