IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sarah
Nichols
February 10, 1994 – January 31, 2024
Sarah Allison (Alli) Nichols departed this earthly world on January 31, 2024. She was born in St. Louis, MO on February 10, 1994, to Sheila Salmon Nichols and Mark Nichols. Now, she shares her beautiful light in the sky, both day and night.
Growing up on a small farm in Nixa, MO, Sarah developed an appreciation for the environment and all creatures, big and small. Whether camping with her Girl Scout troop or traveling with the soccer team, she enjoyed her younger days with friends. From an early age, Sarah had quite the palette and loved cooking, which was a gift she shared throughout her life. In 2012, she graduated with honors from the International Baccalaureate Program at Central High School, where, as goalkeeper and Captain all four years, she helped lead the soccer team to their first district championship her senior year. She was part of the swim team, debate team, and broadcast journalism team, winning an Emmy for the documentary "Driving While Intexticated." In 2016, she graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul, MN with degrees in International Studies and Political Science. While there, she developed and launched RSVTea, a fizzy energy tea with the tagline "Everyone's Invited." In 2018, The Minneapolis/St Paul Business Journal recognized Sarah for these efforts, naming her among the Top 25 Entrepreneurs Under 25. Later, she applied her unique skill set and experience to the solar industry. As a project development expert at Earthrise Energy, she focused on renewable energy solutions for municipal power production.
Sarah is loved dearly and will be missed beyond words. In recent years, even as she struggled with mental health challenges, she generously shared her kindness, acceptance, strength, and love with others fighting a similar battle. Her brilliance, determination, creativity, and desire for inclusivity contributed to making this world a better place. We can always feel her presence in the tides of the sky—on starry nights and dark nights, on days warmed and illuminated through clouds or crystalline blue.
Sarah is survived by Sheila Salmon Nichols and Mark Nichols (parents), Taylor Nichols (brother), Julie Salmon Rawlings (aunt), Susie and Stan Nichols (aunt/uncle), Lindsey Rawlings Flowers and Lura Rawlings Thach (cousins), Stacie Tindle Neathery ("aunt"), and Ruby (beloved poodle), along with many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by grandparents: Meredith Lorance, Joe Salmon, Lois Saunders, and William Nichols.
In the spirit of "Everyone's Invited", a visitation followed by a memorial celebration of Sarah's life will be held on April 6, 2024, 11 am, at Unity of Springfield, 2214 E Seminole, St., Springfield, MO. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice, or to the Sarah Nichols Memorial Fund at Multipli Credit Union, Springfield, MO to honor Sarah's love for her brother and commitment to his ongoing care.
