Sarah Jane Kipping, 86, of Springfield , Missouri passed away Friday, October 14, 2011 at 12:18 pm in St. John's Hospital. She was born August 8, 1925 in Rushville, Illinois to Guy F. and Myrtle V. Haley Whitson. She was a registered nurse in Quincy, Illinois and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Springfield. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Thomas Kipping. Sarah is survived by six brothers, J. Robert Whitson (Genevieve) of Champaign, Il, Lyle F. Whitson of Windham, MO, John H. Whitson (Bonnie) of Branson, MO, Walter F. Whitson (Margaret) of Niota, Il, William D. Whitson (Margie) of Springfield, MO, and David H. Whitson (Diana) of Orlando, FL; four sisters, Margaret Marshall of Springfield, Zelma Peter of Grand Blanc, MI, Nora Howell (Ronald) of Carthage, Il, and Ann Brandt (Larry) of Springfield; sister-in-law, Nancy Peters (Pete); brother-in-law, David Kipping (Pam); as well as many nieces, and nephews. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 11:00 am in Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Reverend Fergus Monaghan, celebrant under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Visitation will be Tuesday at 9:30 am until service time at the church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
