Sam was born in Springfield, MO, on November 3, 1997. He passed away Friday March 17th after ending his own life. He possessed a kind and clever sense of humor, and never had a bad word to say about anybody. He fought a long battle with anxiety and depression, and the decision to escape his pain was the one time he put himself first. Sam lived a full life, excelling in everything he did. He played golf since he was four, and competed for Glendale High School – where he helped take his team to the state title and finished fifth individually and was proud to compete for the Missouri State University Golf Team. He was a deep thinker who touched many lives with his quiet, supportive demeanor. He loved animals, especially his Doberman Bruno.

He was proceeded in death by his grandmother Joanne Foutty, and grandfather David Holmes. He is survived by his parents Mary Jane and Tim Holmes, and elder sibling Mary Scott of Springfield; his aunt and uncle, Mike and Karen Dreyer, their children Kacki and Jack, of Leawood, Kansas; his grandmother Sue of Springfield; his grandparents Toni Arnett and Sam Arnett of Lubbock, Texas; his grandfather John Foutty of Florida; and his additional extended family and many friends.

Visitation will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, on Tuesday March 21st, from 5pm – 7pm. A Funeral Service will be held at The Venues, 2616 E. Battlefield, on Wednesday March 22nd at 2pm.
