Samuel Lynn Hart, 62 of Springfield, passed away at 4:00 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2014 in Cox South Medical Center after a short illness. Samuel was born on August 17, 1951. He was a 1970 graduate of Parkview High School. Samuel was a member of North Point Church where he volunteered in many areas. He loved his church and his church family. He was an avid bowler, always shooting for that 300 game. He never met anyone he didn't like. His family and friends will miss him greatly. Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Margaret Hart; a brother, David Hart; and a niece, Amy Hart. Samuel is survived by a brother, Charles Hart and his wife Ann; a nephew, Chad Hart and his wife Johnna all of Springfield; two nieces, Katie Brown of Minneapolis, MN and Sarah Hart of Iowa; an aunt, Helen Winters of Springfield and many cousins. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2014 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
