Sarah Alice "Sally" Camp Dinka, age 96, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021. She was born on March 5, 1925, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Dr. Francis B. and Mary P. Camp.
Sally had a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Spanish from Missouri State University. She was a charter member of First & Calvary Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed working as an interior decorator and working for U.S. Senator Christopher S. Bond in his Springfield office.
Sally loved to travel with her husband Frank Dinka. Together they took 32 trips to Europe, usually scheduled around visiting his family who lived in Slovakia, with Germany, Austria, and Switzerland also being favorite destinations. They enjoyed having a cabin and boat at Table Rock Lake for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her brother Walter A. Camp, and her daughter Lisa Perryman Whittaker. She is survived by her daughters Laury Perryman Leese (Mark), of Springfield; and Tracy Perryman Christianson (Dean), of Belleville, Illinois; eight grandchildren: Adam Whitworth (Courtney) and Jordan Whitworth (fiancé Julia Hartman); Christopher and Elizabeth Leese (fiancé John Dressler); Paul, Sarah, Eric, and Benjamin Christianson; and six great-grandchildren: Bryce, Ciana, and Rylee Whitworth; and Aiden, Myles, and Harlem Teague.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Brentwood Chapel at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home on Friday, June 18, 2021, at 9:30 a.m., with the Reverend Chris Miller of Trinity Presbyterian Church officiating, followed by a burial at 11:00 a.m. at Springfield National Cemetery.
