Obituary

Sally Millitzer Carlton has entered into eternity with her Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, November 19th, 2018. While we shall mourn her passing, we take time to celebrate her life with all who knew and loved her.

Sally was born June 19th, 1943 to her parents William and Virginia Millitzer, After growing up in Apopka, Florida, she later attended Jacksonville State College in Alabama, where she studied art and enjoyed the vibrant colors of the changing seasons. She was married to Jim Carlton of Mt. Dora, Florida and raised two children, Sherry and Derek. She had one grandson, Tyler and enjoyed spending time with him.  The family moved to Springfield, Missouri where Sally was later employed by Ozarks Coca-Cola, one of her favorite places filled with many friends, retiring in 2017.  She was always talking to others about her Coke family and took much pride in the work she did there.  After retiring Sally moved to Lakewood Assisted Living, where she met several new friends and found a new love for puzzles and bingo.

Sally's faith was an integral part of who she was, she always looked for ways to be the light to others with a simple smile or comment that she would be praying for you. She was actively involved with the intercessory prayer team at Ridgecrest Baptist church and most recently as a greeter at Landmark Church. She always took time to make sure that you were well taken care of. Sally enjoyed growing flowers, listening to music and returning to the beach whenever she could. She was a lifelong fan of the Florida Gators, enjoyed puzzles and played a serious game of bingo.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, Saturday, November 24, 2018 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.

To quote Sally:  I want to be able to let the Lords light shine through me and to help myself and family along with all those I will meet along the way.

Romans 8:38-39 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Isaiah 41:10 Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
