Ryan "David" Wood, 48, of Ozark, Missouri passed away on the morning of May 26, 2024, at his home.
David was born on April 18, 1976, in Morehead, Kentucky, to Ron and Beverly LaFollette Wood. The family moved to Mountain Grove, Missouri, shortly after in 1978. The family then moved to Houston, Missouri, where David would graduate from Houston High School in 1994. He then would attend State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri. David would spend most of his adult life working as a truck driver for several trucking companies in Springfield MO, most notably at Holland Motor Freight. In the last year of his life, he enjoyed working at Ozarks Coca-Cola in Springfield.
David is survived by his two sons, Ryan Dean Wood and Cooper Wood of Ozark, MO; his mother Beverly Wood of Republic, MO; brother Joseph Wood (Anita) of Fair Grove, MO; half-brother Doug (Shelly) Moore of Mountain Grove, MO, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many special family members in Kentucky and beloved friends in the community.
David is preceded in death by his father Ron Wood and uncle Randy Wood.
In his spare time, David was an avid bass fisherman. He would spend many years enjoying the lake with his many friends and family. He had a love for sports. He would avidly watch St. Louis Cardinals and his favorite college football team the Oklahoma Sooners.
He would share his love for the lake and sports with family. He could be seen at many Ozark Tiger Baseball games over the years.
Services will be held on June 15, 2024, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home At 1947 East Seminole, Springfield, MO. A visitation will take place at 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
