Ruth Vivian West, 92, of Springfield, MO died August 20, 2017.

Ruth best known as "Vivian" was a great lover of cats especially Max.  Vivian was the head cook for many years at "Pappy's Place", a barbecue restaurant.

Vivian was born to Benjamin and Mabel Blankenship on Oct. 5, 1924.  Most of her childhood was spent on Nichols Street here in Springfield.

Vivian's siblings: Tom, Louise, Virginia, Dorothy, Evelyn and Russell proceeded her in death.

Vivian is survived by her son Joseph B. Schadeberg (…Robbie); three granddaughters Shelly, Lea and Rebecca; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 from 9 to 10 AM in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with services following at 10 AM in the funeral home.  Interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
