Ruth Ann Snowden of Springfield passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013. Ruth was born in Steele, MO to Charley and Ella Kilburn Thompson. She was united in marriage to Charles Snowden on June 1, 1963. Ruth attended Freed-Hardeman University in Jackson, Tenn. Ruth was a Mortgage Agent with Countrywide Financial. She was a member of the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women (NAPMW), where she was twice National and Local Chapter President for several terms. She was also a founding member of Community Christian Church of Springfield. Ruth is survived by her husband, Charles W. Snowden; three sons, Christopher Snowden of San Francisco, CA, Kelly (Kimberly) Snowden of Redding, CA, and Michael (Olga) Snowden of Almaty, Kazakhstan; grandsons, Jackson and Maxwell Snowden; granddaughters, Alexandria (Sasha) and Lara Snowden; brothers, Paul (Donna) Thompson of Lake Placid, FL and Tony (Phyllis) Thompson of Portageville, MO Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Sonny Thompson. Visitation will be Friday, March 1, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in Community Christian Church, 4806 East Cherry, Springfield.
