Ruth Pottenger Raker Malouff, 93, was born in Marion County, Arkansas on August 18, 1919. Her family moved to Aurora, Missouri in 1922. She was a graduate of Aurora High School in 1937. She did office work in Aurora for 5 years before moving to Kansas City, Missouri in 1944. She retired from Missouri Gas Energy in 1976 and returned to Springfield, Missouri in 1984. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, George W. Pottenger and S. Elizabeth Ridens Pottenger, husbands Russell M. Raker and James M. Malouff, Jr; brothers William Orville Pottenger and wife Grace and Harold P. Pottenger and wife Patsy Lou; and sister Ruby C. Cline and husband Kenneth. She is survived by two stepsons Charles A. Malouff and wife Louise, San Antonio, TX and James M. Malouff III, Kansas City, MO; aunt, step-children, sister, nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Springfield, MO. Visitation will be on Monday, February 25, 2013 from 10 to 11 a.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Funeral Services will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be at a later date in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri.
