Ruth Cooper Hone, age 94 of Springfield passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Christian Health Care East. Her death was preceded by ten months of failing health as a result of a traumatic fall. She was born November 28, 1919 in Tulsa, OK, the daughter of Homer Garfield Cooper and Florence Faye Pittenger Cooper. She was a graduate of Tulsa Central High School and attended Tulsa University where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She married Herbert Miles Hone in 1940. She was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church in Sarasota, FL and had previously been a member of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church, Springfield. Ruth was also a member of PEO in Sarasota. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by two sons, Larry R. Hone and wife Pat of Eatonton, GA and Randy C. Hone and wife Debbie of Springfield, MO; daughter, Carole H. Ullery and husband John of Hilton Head, SC; two grandchildren, Jeff R. Tokarczyk and wife Jaime and Carli A. Campbell and husband Jimmy; four great-grandchildren, Tucker, Ben, Bailey and Knox; two step-grandsons, Scott Savage and wife Michelle and Jason Savage; two step-great-granddaughters, Sophia and Katy; sister-in-law, Marge Cooper; and several nieces and nephews. No services are planned. Local arrangements are under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
