Ruth M. Hirschman entered this world on February 24, 1920. She left our company to be with the Lord on January 19, 2013. She was 92 years old. She was born to Peter J. and Adela Opel at an area close to Jefferson City, Missouri called Stringtown, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Ranum and husband, Donald of Cape Coral, Florida; grandson Mark Ranum of Ozark, Missouri; brother-in-law Paul Hirschman; and sisters-in-law Ann of Nevada, Missouri and Erna Linsenbardt of Jefferson City, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews. Ruth, as she was known to her family and friends, was a high school graduate of Russellville High School, Russellville, Missouri. Ruth was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church in Springfield. Visitation will be held Friday, January 25, 2013 at 1:00pm in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with funeral proceedings will follow at 2:00pm. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery at 3:00pm. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Care of the funeral home.
