Ruth Mary Francka (Fuerst)

Springfield, MO – Ruth died August 14, 2021 at the age of 94.  She was born in St. Louis, MO on February 18, 1927, to Louis Henry Fuerst and Frances Johanna Fuerst (Kraus). She was the fifth of eight children.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Benjamin Joseph Francka, who was the love of her life.

Ruth is survived by her son Ben (Rosie), daughters, Jane Francka-Hadfield, Mary Thoele (Jim) and Martha Phillips (Brian).  She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Ruth was a homemaker and a dedicated volunteer for many worthy causes.  She especially enjoyed her time as part of Little Theater Guild and with the Garden Club.

Her greatest loves were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m., under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  Rosary and visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m.  Burial will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery near Bolivar (Karlin).
