Obituary

Ruth Elnor Deardorff, 91, Springfield, passed away at 11:12 a.m., Sunday. She was born in Exeter, MO on January 29, 1919 to Guy and Lucy Yarnall Engleman, who preceded her in death. Ruth moved to Greenfield as a small child and attended Greenfield schools, graduating from Greenfield High School, and attended State Teachers College "MSU" and Drury College. Ruth was united in marriage on Dec. 20, 1942, in Greenfield, to Raymond Everett Deardorff who preceded her in death. Ruth's interests were music, sewing, church and family. She was a member and elder of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church. Ruth is survived by a son and his wife, Marquis Joe "Mark" and Martha Deardorff, Roanoke, Va.; two daughters and their husbands, Rae Ann and Richard Entz, Lititz, Pa., and Rebecca Lynn "Becky" and Eddie Tims, Springfield; three grand-daughters, Heather Deardorff Wilson and husband, William, and Valerie and Michelle Tims; two grandsons, Jeff Deardorff and wife, Christie, and Brian Entz; three great-grandchildren, Miranda and Joshua Wilson and Ethan Deardorff. Family graveside service will be held Saturday in Hazelwood Cemetery under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 29, 2011 in First and Calvary Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow in the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First and Calvary Presbyterian Church Music Fund or American Cancer Society.
