Ruby Clayton McNabb , 83, of Springfield, MO passed away on November 11, 2014. Ruby was born in East Prairie, MO to Ada Gordon Morgan and Clay Morgan on January 21, 1931. She graduated from college with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Southeast Missouri State in 1958. She taught prior to her graduation in Chula Vista, CA. She then moved to Pittsburg, PA and married the love of her life James E. McNabb on September 27, 1958. In December of 1962 they moved to Springfield, MO. They lived on a farm outside Springfield for the last 45 years. She lovingly taught in a variety of schools over the years including a one-room schoolhouse in Lower Dogwood, MO and in Fordland, Verona and Billings, MO. She was most proud of raising her two sons Steven and David, who in turn provided her with her greatest joy, her grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling, bridge and spending time with her friends. Her husband Jim preceded her in death on February 3rd of this year. The last three years she has been lovingly cared for by several amazing caregivers who loved her as much as her family. The family's sincere thanks to Cynthia Massey, Doris Horstman, Carol Robbert and Jo Ellen Vaughan for all they have done. She will be deeply missed by her sons Steven and his wife Diane, their children Kyle, Ariel and Elise, David and his wife Brandi, their children Rebecca, Kelli and Matthew; a sister Patricia LaRue Todd; a brother William (Sonny) Allison Morgan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday evening, November 17th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole, Springfield, MO.
