On January 22, 2011, one of God's true angels went home to be with her Lord and Saviour after a short bout with leukemia. Ruby Wonza Florez was born February 19, 1936, in Searcy, Ark., to Clifton David and Imogene Coffey. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents as well as one brother, Robert Coffey. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Jose Florez; her sister Kynes Burton and husband Bill of Tucson, Ariz.; four children, Chuck Florez and wife Jo Ann of Gig Harbor, Wash., Carmen Perkins and husband John of Nixa, Bob Florez and wife Debra of Springfield, and Richard Florez and wife Amy of St. Louis. She is also survived by her ten wonderful grandchildren, Joseph, Joshua, Jason, Mariah, Jasmine, Cooper, Conner, and Sophia Florez, and Clayton and Austin Perkins, who filled her life with joy. Ruby was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. As well as being a devoted homemaker, she was also a valued employee at Payne Sign Company for 20 years. Ruby has been an active member of East Grand Church of Christ for over 40 years where her commitment, service and infectious laughter and giggles will be truly missed. She enjoyed traveling, reading, playing card games, cooking and attending the many activities of her grandchildren. As much as Ruby will be missed, we celebrate the life that she lived, her devotion to faith and family, and her life in the hereafter. Visitation will be from 11-1 on Thursday in the Church of Christ at 2220 East Grand. A service celebrating her life will begin at 1:00 with burial immediately following at Eastlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fair Haven Children's Home in Strafford, Mo.
