Rowena Ann Geoghegan of Springfield, MO passed away on July 6, 2012, at the age of 78. She was married to John Geoghegan on December 22, 1960 in Burlington, Iowa. They were married 52 wonderful loving years together. Rowena was a housewife, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Rowena and John love to go boating, fishing, hunting, and traveling to Florida. She loved her family, friends, and animals with a passion so great. Rowena also loved to sing. She is preceded in death by her parents George and Josephine Carney, brother Howard Carney, and son Michael Geoghegan. She is survived by her husband, John Geoghegan, daughter Kathy Geoghegan, of Perryville, MO, son and wife Ron and Debra Clamors of Springfield, MO, two sisters Linda Willett of Springfield, MO and Carol Forsyth and her husband Bill of Ballwin, MO, two grandchildren Justin and wife Angie Clamors of Crawford, NE, Jason Clamors of Springfield, MO; two great-grandchildren, Preston and Addison Clamors of Crawford, NE; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. During Rowena's illness her husband, children and sisters were there to respond immediately to her needs and when the children,grandchildren and great-grandchildren were near she was always very content. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Brookhaven Health Care Center. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 11, from 7pm-8pm at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be Thursday, July 12, at 10:30am at St. Agnes Catholic Church.
