Rosemary Witt, 90, Springfield, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012. She was born, November 13, 1921 in Springfield, the daughter of Clyde A. Young and Rose Kiefer Young. She was a 1939 graduate of Springfield High School. She worked many years as a clerk at Frisco Railroad. She and her husband Don S. Witt also owned and operated Braden's Cleaners in Springfield for many years. Rosemary was a lifetime member of St. John's United Church of Christ where she actively served on church council, women's guild, and the food committee. She was very involved in many local organizations including the Springfield Symphony. She established a music scholarship at Missouri State University. She was preceded in death by her husband and her brother Dr. C. William Young. She is survived by Nieces Martha Young and Anne Packham; nephew William Geoffrey Young; their mother Helen Young; four grand-nieces and many dear friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 25, 2012 in St. John's Chapel United Church of Christ with the Reverend Becky Hebert officiating under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. No formal visitation is planned, however, friends may call after noon Friday in the funeral home.
