Rosario Mazzella, 71, of Springfield, MO, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011 in Cox South Hospital. He was born February 8, 1940 in Ischia, Naples, Italy to Michele and Adelaide Mazzella. Rosario worked as a Pastry Chef and was an excellent cook. He was a founding member of Queen City Council of the Blind and served as President for many years. In addition, he was a long time member of the Missouri Council of the Blind. Rosario faithfully attended Broadway United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Frank Mazzella. Rosario is survived by his friend and companion, Nancy Hudson, Springfield, a sister Marianna Mazzella, Springfield, a brother, Carlo Mazzella, Brooklyn, NY; sister-in-law, Alora Mazzella, Springfield, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with the Reverend Grant Hagle officiating. Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM today in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Queen City Council of the Blind, 3234 S.
