Rosamunde L. Penn, age 84, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in Tucson, Arizona. She was born in Weiden, Germany, Jun. 11, 1928. On March 12, 1947, Rosie was united in marriage to First Sergeant Wendell E. Penn, who preceded her death on April 25, 1988. Rosie was a Charter member of Holy Trinity Church, Springfield. Christmas was a very special time for Rosie. She enjoyed decorating her home every year with handmade wreaths, trees and other holiday trimmings. Rosie also loved to care for her flowering window boxes and watch the birds at her bird feeders. Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell E. Penn, her son, Michael J. Penn, and her grandson, Casey Penn. Rosie is survived by daughter Susanne Davidson of Missouri City, TX; daughter Patricia and her husband Kenneth Wilkinson of Tucson, AZ; son Stephen Penn of Springfield; nine grandchildren including Kelli and her husband Adam Brown and their children, Ethan, Jack, Molly & William of Missouri City, TX; Emily Davidson and her fiancé, Trevor Anderson, of St. Louis, MO; Jason McCallister, his wife, Heather and his daughter, Sarah of Springfield; Nicole and her children, Courtney, Chloe and Colton of Decatur, IL; Addison Penn of Springfield; Maria Penn of Springfield; Jason Wagner, his wife, Crystal, and their children, Katrina & Madeline of Edmond, OK and Darren Wagner, his wife, Robin and their children, Allison, Rachel and Brookelyn of Springfield. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 7:00-8:00pm at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Church in Springfield. Burial will follow at Springfield National Cemetery.
