Rosalie Kiefer, 92, of Waconia, MN passed away August 8, 2016 in Good Samaritan Care Center. She was born Aug. 7, 1924 in Fordland, MO to Charlie H. Glaubitz and Hallie (Simmerman) Glaubitz. Rosalie graduated from Rogersville High School and Springfield College of Commerce and attended University of MO at Kansas City. She married Samuel D. Kiefer, July 18, 1948 and one child was born. They made their home in Springfield, MO until 1955 then moved to the Kansas City area until 1991, when they moved back to Springfield. After Sam's death she moved to Waconia, MN to be close to her daughter and family.
Rosalie led a rewarding life as a wife, mother, homemaker, secretary and bookkeeper. She also co-owned a greenhouse business with Sam after his retirement. She was a member of the Lee's Summit Methodist Church for 31 years, transferring to Second Baptist Church in Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband; mother and father; only brother Charles Glaubitz; sisters, Margaret Smith, Katherine Glabuitz, Lucile Hurd and Doris Garret; sister-in-law Gladene Kiefer; brother-in-laws Charles (Frank) Kiefer, Verl Smith, Dale Hurd, Leonard Stone, and Chuck Garrett.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Carter and son-in-law Neil Carter; grandchildren, Dana and Alex Carter; one sister Shirley Stone; sister-in-law Mary Field; and brother-in-law Bill Kiefer; nine nephews; nine nieces; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 20, 2016 from 10 to 11:00 a.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery in Rogersville, MO.
