Ronald Eugene Seyl, 88, of Springfield, MO passed away at 3:15 AM on Friday, September 3, 2021 in the arms of his loving wife, Gail and son, Ronald, Jr.
He served during the Cuban Missile Crisis and served in the U.S. Air Force in Japan during the Korean War. He retired from the U.S. Army and then retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone/AT&T.
He was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Heart of the Ozarks Model T Ford Club of America, Southwest MO Model A Club, Ozarks Antique Auto Club, Fairview Antique Auto Club, AT&T Pioneers and the Air and Military Museum of the Ozarks. He was a gifted mechanic. He could fix anything and loved "messing around with old cars." He drove Model T's and Model A's on many tours, including the Grand Canyon and topped Pike's Peak. He was a man of many talents and made life better for everyone. He never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Seyl; mother, Bertha Seyl; wife, Helen Beth Seyl; daughter, Robin (Perry) Edmunds; sister, Barbara LaDuke and brothers-in-law James Allen LaDuke, Sr., John Heuer and Tom Heuer.
He is survived by his wife, Gail of Springfield; daughters Renee (Terry) Riley of Springfield and Randy (Steve) Coble of Rogersville; son, Ronald Eugene Seyl, Jr. of Branson; grandchildren Shawn Riley (fiancé Kara Manning) of Norman, OK, Heather Riley of New Orleans, LA, Steven (Amber) Coble of Rogersville, Joe (Teresa) Coble of Rogersville; great grandson, Joe Coble of Rogersville and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends and loved ones across the country.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 PM, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will follow in National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Air and Military Museum of the Ozarks, 2305 E. Kearney, Springfield, MO 65803.
