Ronald Bruce Obenchain, 49, Springfield, MO passed away Tuesday, February 09, 2010 in St. John's Regional Health Center. Bruce was born June 27, 1960 in Wagoner, OK and grew up in the Kansas City area. He resided and worked in the Springfield area for the last thirteen years and worked as a Lifeguard and Multiple Sclerosis Exercise Instructor in the St. John's Outpatient Physical Therapy Department. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, scuba diving, custom cars and fighter air craft. Bruce also enjoyed his family and friends and was very active in the Oxford House Program in the Springfield and Joplin area and served in many capacities. He is survived by his parents, Ron and Joe Obenchain, Stockton, MO; a sister, Amy Jo Parrish, a niece, Julia Ann Parrish, and a nephew, Michael Jack Parrish, all of Peculiar, MO; an uncle, Dr. Fred D. Parman, and wife, Shirlee, Sarasota, FL; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday, February 12, 2010 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, February 11, 2010 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Greene County Chapter, 1675 E.
