Obituary

Ronald Kraus Albaugh, 93 of Springfield passed away Friday, July 16, 2021, at The Gardens.  He was born July 26, 1927, in Charles City, Iowa to Lee and Ortha (Kraus) Albaugh.  He graduated from Charles City High School and then attended General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan.  He returned to Charles City and sold cars with his dad at Albaugh Motor Company.  Ron married Alfreeda Swinton in 1951, and they lived in Charles City until 1959.  At that point, Ron became an accountant and they moved to Ottumwa and later Topeka, Kansas before settling in Springfield in 1968.

He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church for 40 years and was active in an antique car club.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a son-in-law, Charlie Raper.

He is survived by his two daughters, LeAnn Keeslar and Susan Raper both of Springfield; four grandchildren, Charlie Kennedy of Springfield, Wes Keeslar of Ozark, Emily (Craig) Kreman of Joplin, and Amelia Keeslar of Springfield; three great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Keeslar, Collins and Sloane Kreman; and a brother, Merlyn Albaugh of Nashville, TN.

Ron always had a story, or a joke to tell and loved being around people.  He was super proud of his family.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in Maple Park Cemetery, under the care of Gorman- Scharpf Funeral Home.
