Obituary

Rodney Lee Page was born October 24, 1947 to Harold and Louise Page.  He died February 27th, 2018 at age 70 after a short illness.

He leaves behind many wonderful friends at the Springfield Elks Lodge and W.F. Cody's where Rodney loved to watch sports and get his military discount at the bar.  Rodney was an avid fisherman and spent summers in his camper at Aunt's Creek, often with his longtime girlfriend, Linda and his spoiled dog, "Rocky" who was a constant companion.  The lake was Rodney's true love.  In 1974, he and good friend, Larry Barton caught a massive catfish on Table Rock, weighing 54 pounds. They turned its wide mouth into a trophy, one of many lined up like soldiers in Rodney's garage.

Rodney Page graduated from Parkview High School and served four years in the Air Force between 1966-1970.  During his service, Rodney was stationed in Texas, Oklahoma and Libya.  After returning home, he began a career at The Frisco Railroad and worked many years before suffering a career-ending injury.

Rodney was the youngest of three sons and was preceded in death by both parents. He is survived by older brothers, Morris Page of Reeds Spring, MO and David Page of Kansas City, MO.  He was also preceded in death by wife, Janice, who died in 1982.  Rodney was a beloved uncle to Debbie, Lissa, Marc and Jason.

No visitation is planned but a military graveside service will be March 8th, 2018 at the Springfield National Cemetery, 1702 E. Seminole at 2:00 p.m.  A celebration of life will be held at the Elks Lodge at 2223 E. Bennett Street, Springfield, MO on March 11th at 3:00-5:00 p.m.  Immediately following, friends are invited to join his Cody's family for a balloon release at the 3138 E. Sunshine location.

Burial is handled by Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield.
