IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Wayne
White
May 29, 1937 – January 19, 2024
Robert Wayne "Bob" White, age 86, of Springfield, MO passed away peacefully on January 19, 2024. Born in Sedalia, MO on May 29, 1937, to E. Glen White and Virginia (Thompson) White, Bob was a graduate of the Springfield, MO Central High School class of 1955.
Bob cherished fifty-seven years of marriage to Sandy, the love of his life. Together they enjoyed traveling, cruising on boats and in their classic cars, attending Drury basketball games, meeting with their Hot Rod club, and socializing with their fellow church parishioners. Since its inception, Bob was a beloved member of The Venues, and shared the church's core values of inclusion and community.
Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. In fact, many that knew him "adopted" Bob as their own family. Caring for and spending time with his loved ones is what brought Bob his greatest joy. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word, always putting the needs of others before himself. His kind eyes and warm smile will be missed.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sandra K. (McWilliams) White; daughter Debra "Debbie" McClain of Springfield, Missouri; grandsons Travis McClain (Elizabeth) and Michael McClain of Springfield; nephew Jim McWilliams, Jr.; niece Laralyn McWilliams (Charlie); great niece Sophia Anderson; and two great-grandchildren, Kayden and Payton. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, E. Glen White and Virginia (Thompson) White, and brother, Richard "Rick" A. White (Bob).
A memorial service will be held at Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 1:00 PM in The Venues, 2616 E. Battlefield Road, Springfield, MO 65804, with arrangements under the care of the Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. A private interment will follow at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to The Southwest Missouri Humane Society and The Venues Church.
