IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert D.
Tucker
March 22, 1929 – February 17, 2021
Robert D. Tucker was born on March 23, 1929. Well at least that is what the birth certificate said. His mother said he came into the world on March 22 at 11:58 pm. So, every year, as long as his mother lived, Bob had two birthdays…legal one and the one his mother declared. He left this earth the same way, passing at 11:17 on February 17, 2020, but the recorded time of death was 12:47 February 18. For 91 years Bob did life his way.
A little place known as Stotesbury, Missouri (population 18) was his home town. Hard times of The Great Depression took him, his single mom, and his brother, Sam to Kansas City. At East High School he met the love of his life, Colleen Brown. They were married April 29, 1950.
His 40+ year career was spent in the trucking industry with Kenworth Truck Company in Kansas City and Springfield, serving as General Manager of Midwest Kenworth Truck Company which became MHC. When the retirement bug bit, he and Colleen hit the road, traveling to Europe, Alaska, and throughout the United States, sometimes staying in resorts and other times pulling their travel trailer. He was an avid fisherman often "skunking" everyone else.
He loved his four grandchildren, Jake Tucker (Denver), Katie Tucker (Memphis), Connor Wiest and Caden Wiest (Kimberling City). His life was full of love from his two children, Steve Tucker and his wife Carol of Memphis; Terri Tucker-Wiest and her husband, Les Wiest of Kimberling City, Missouri.
He also leaves his brother Sam Tucker, wife Nita and their son Chris Tucker and family. Many people have called him, "Friend."
His beloved wife, Colleen journeys through this life still with the disease of Alzheimer's and it is because of that, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association http://act.alz.org/goto/RobertDTucker
Life is good.
